AGRA FORT

This huge fort was build of red sandstone here in Agra by the Mogul rulers. The king that build the Taj lived here and was later imprisoned here for the rest of his life by a power-hungry son.



There are lots of monkeys in India and this was no exception. There were monkeys on the ground that the visitors were feeding. You could sit on a wall and they would approach -- adults and babies too.



Within the grounds of the red fort the king's residence was of white marble. He was later imprisoned there for the rest of his life by a power-hungry son.



The king, from his prison window, could see the Taj Mahal he built for his wife and where he would ultimately be interred.
